As a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - Field Service - CES), you'll perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. You will have opportunities to improve, challenge yourself, and potentially advance into leadership roles within our Service Department. Providing exceptional customer service is a key expectation for all team members.

What You'll Do

1. Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment using a high degree of independent judgment.
2. Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
3. Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
4. Complete and document work orders promptly and accurately.
5. Upsell and demonstrate complex equipment to customers.
6. Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
3. 5+ years of experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
4. Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of tools.
5. Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
6. Ability to read schematics and diagrams.
7. Own tools applicable to the position.
8. Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
9. Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals policies.
