Job summary

United Rentals in Rogers, AR seeks a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment. You’ll travel to customer job sites and maintain a safe, professional approach while supporting a high-performing Service Department.

The role offers opportunities for advancement to Service Technician levels and leadership within our Service team, with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Superior customer service and teamwork skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service), you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you’ll do:

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems

• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner

• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed

• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis

• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts

• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools

• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines

• Must own tools applicable to position

• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
