United Rentals, Inc. in Casper, WY is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe and professional manner.

You will travel to customer sites, train lower level technicians, and maintain work orders while supporting vehicle readiness. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential, with opportunities for advancement within the service department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background on engines.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel).
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Document work orders and maintain paperwork daily.
• Assist with pickup/delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service), you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you’ll do:

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems

• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner

• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed

• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis

• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts

• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools

• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines

• Must own tools applicable to position

• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
