Job Description: Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service)

Position Overview: As a Field Diesel Mechanic, you will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment safely and professionally. This role offers growth potential into higher Service Technician and leadership roles, with a focus on exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform safe maintenance and repair of rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
2. Travel to customer sites for equipment repair and maintenance; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
3. Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
4. Complete paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed daily.
5. Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
3. 3-5 years of experience in repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
4. Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of tools.
5. Strong understanding of various engines.
6. Own tools applicable to the position.
7. Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
8. Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs. frequently.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive under United Rentals' policies.
