About the Role

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Field Service Tech II), you'll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will have opportunities to improve your skills and advance to higher levels of Service Technician and leadership roles within our Service Department. Providing exceptional customer service is a key part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of various complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer sites for repair and maintenance; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
• Complete and document work orders accurately and promptly.
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 1-2 years of experience in vehicle and equipment repair/maintenance or trade school graduate.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
• Good understanding of engines.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive under United Rentals policies.
