We’re hiring an Entry-Level Field Design Technician for an exciting dual-role opportunity based in Richmond, VA. This temp-to-direct position offers hands-on experience in the utility industry, blending fieldwork with technical design tasks.

Pay Rate: $24-$26/hr

Location: Richmond, VA (Local travel only)

Term: 6-month contract-to-hire

Schedule: 40 hrs/week - field days often 4x10s, office/design work 5x8s

Remote: Hybrid (must live local - field work required)

In This Role, You Will

• Gather utility pole and site data in the field (no climbing involved)
• Update drawings using CAD-based proprietary software
• Work closely with a partner and interact with property owners as needed
  
  

Ideal candidates will have:

• A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
• CAD training or experience (schoolwork counts)
• Strong communication, reliability, and a proactive attitude
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed)
