Position Overview:

Astound Broadband is seeking a Field Deployment Technician in SW Washington. This role involves troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining access infrastructure equipment, especially in our wireless and towers division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair Wave infrastructure, including network connections from microwave and millimeter-wave radio headend to backbone hardware.
• Conduct tower inspections and preventive maintenance (PMs), addressing potential issues.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Perform connections, disconnections, upgrades, relocations, and equipment installations/removals.
• Install and troubleshoot network equipment such as microwave and millimeter-wave radios, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi devices.
• Handle basic DC/AC installations following best practices.
• Create and upload as-built documentation and perform site surveys.
• Assist with various projects aimed at improving efficiency and optimization.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Experience working at heights on towers or monopoles, including tower climbing (ideally 1+ years).
• Certified tower climber and rescue (will certify if not already certified).
• RF awareness (preferred, will certify).
• Rigging experience (preferred).
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of network protocols, routers, firewalls, switches, and system architecture.
• Ability to design or set up complex wireless networks with Cisco equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Enjoy technical challenges and effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, safety procedures, and basic electronics.
• Good vision, physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and work in fast-paced environments.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Compensation:

The hourly rate in Washington ranges from $23.00 to $30.00, with potential bonuses and commissions. Specific roles include:

• Field Deployment Technician I: $23.00 - $27.50/hr
• Field Deployment Technician II: $26.00 - $30.00/hr
