Job summary

Mach Industries is seeking a Forward Deployed Autonomous Systems Engineer to integrate, test, deploy, and operate autonomous aircraft and related systems. This hands-on role spans avionics, flight controls, sensors, and ground-control interfaces, with opportunities to lead mission planning and field deployments.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree, experience with UAS, PX4/ArduPilot, and ground-control apps, plus strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to travel for multi-day field tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent hands-on experience
• Understanding of unmanned aircraft systems and electromechanical subsystems
• Familiarity with flight-control concepts and PX4/ArduPilot
• Experience with QGroundControl or Mission Planner
• Ability to travel and obtain FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate

Responsibilities

• Configure, inspect, test, and operate autonomous vehicles and supporting equipment
• Conduct checkouts and preflight activities for aircraft and ground systems
• Verify mission packouts and maintain accountability for tools and spares
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and field troubleshooting
• Support mission planning and flight tests
• Lead development of checklists and procedures
• Collaborate with engineering, flight test, manufacturing, and logistics teams
• Provide feedback to engineering teams based on field experience
• Participate in multi-day field deployments and demonstrations
• Assist with integration of avionics, sensors, and ground systems
