Job summary

Gtatelecom is seeking a Data Center Fiber Technician on a contract basis in Athens, OH and New Albany, OH, supporting fiber-optic infrastructure, installations, migrations, remediation, break/fix, and remote-hands services in customer data centers and co-location facilities.

Ideal candidates will have strong fiber and optical-testing experience, lead field work, and travel up to 50% with occasional multi-week assignments, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights.

Qualifications

• 3-15 years of data center operations, field services, or similar technical experience
• Hands-on experience with single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling
• Experience with LC connectors, fan-outs, and structured cabling
• Experience with fiber installation, migration, decommissioning, remediation, and break/fix
• Hands-on experience with optical testing and troubleshooting
• Experience using optical power meters, VFLs, OTDRs, light sources, and/or optical test sets
• Ability to read and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs), engineering documents, network diagrams, and cut sheets
• Team lead or technical lead experience
• Strong customer-facing communication and documentation skills
• Ability to travel up to 50%, including short-notice travel and multi-week assignments
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and work at heights
• Must not have been employed by Ericsson within the past 2 years
