Job summary

Communication Technology Services (CTS) is seeking a System Performance Engineer to support our Northern California region, with 90% travel in the field. The role involves DAS, Small Cell, and 4G/5G private wireless networks, ensuring systems perform to CTS and client standards.

The position can be filled at Engineer I or II level; pay is commensurate with experience. A BS degree or equivalent, plus 3–5 years of RF/DAS experience, is required along with travel ability within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of RF Engineering, In-Building DAS, RAN or Small Cell with RF math competency.
• Experience with test equipment like Spectrum Analyzers, Power M meters, and related tools.
• Ability to perform RF link budgets and noise figure calculations.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and iBwave design files.
• Strong multitasking and customer-facing problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Onsite technical implementation and troubleshooting of DAS and managed networks.
• Perform pre/post RF benchmark data collection and data analysis.
• Interface with CTS operations to ensure high-quality network builds.
• Conduct CW testing, spectrum analysis, segment and system sweeps, PIM and OTDR testing as required.
• Perform DAS maintenance including fault analysis and interference mitigation.
• Support NOC and respond to Technical Trouble Tickets; after-hours may be required to meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with MNOs and Neutral Host venues during maintenance.
• Oversee AHJ inspections and third-party testing as necessary.
• Provide guidance to project managers and construction teams to avoid issues.
• Maintain project documentation in CTS cloud-based systems.
