Celonis is seeking a visionary Field CTO to act as a strategic technical advisor for our most important prospects and customers in New York. You will translate complex business transformations into scalable technical strategies, championing Process Intelligence and Enterprise Modernization.

You will lead architecture roadmaps, partner with Sales, and shape product direction with senior executives, delivering thought leadership and high‑impact demonstrations.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of relevant experience in senior technology roles.
• Experience as CTO at a consulting firm or Field CTO at a software vendor preferred.
• Strong track record presenting to C‑suite stakeholders with business value.

Field CTO

We are looking for a visionary and strategic Field CTO with a learn‑all mindset to serve as a high‑impact technical advisor for our most strategic prospects and customers. In this role, you will act as a peer to client executives, translating complex business transformations into scalable technical strategies, and championing Process Intelligence, Agentic AI and Enterprise Modernization.

Responsibilities

• Executive Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to C‑level executives, aligning their long‑term strategic goals with the Celonis technical vision.
• Strategic Architecture & Roadmap: Lead the overarching data, cloud, and innovation strategy for our largest global accounts, utilizing methodologies like Capability Mapping to identify high‑value opportunities.
• Innovation Leadership: Architect first‑of‑a‑kind solutions using emergent technologies like Agentic AI to solve complex enterprise challenges.
• Sales & Business Impact: Partner with Sales and Value Engineering driving revenue through new customer acquisition and strategic up‑selling.
• Product Advocacy: Act as a critical feedback loop between our Product & Engineering teams and the market, ensuring the voice of the customer shapes our future offerings.
• Thought Leadership: Develop and deliver customer‑facing position papers, assets, and presentations that establish our brand as a leader in architecture and innovation.

Qualifications

• Experience: 15 to 20 years of relevant experience, ideally having served as a CTO at a consulting firm, as Field CTO at a software vendor, or Director/VP of Enterprise Architecture within a major corporation.
• Strategic Communication: Proven track record of presenting complex technical visions to C‑suite stakeholders in a way that emphasizes business value.
• Modernization Expertise: Deep experience in Enterprise Modernization, EA Methodologies, and a robust understanding of Agentic AI.
• Technical Versatility: Ability to pivot from high‑level architecture diagrams to hands‑on demo.
• Technical Foundation: Excellent background in Data Architecture, API ecosystems, and cloud‑native SaaS solutions like Salesforce and ServiceNow.
• ERP Knowledge: Experience with at least one ERP – SAP or Oracle.
• Domain: Strong domain expertise in Financial Services.
• Education: MSc degree in Computer Science or an equivalent IT‑related field.

Preferred

• Tech Stack: Celonis, OCPM and Case Centric Data Pipelines.
• Certifications: TOGAF/Zachmann, AWS/Azure/GCP, and ESB/ETL certifications (e.g., Mulesoft, Informatica).
• Industry Breadth: Experience across at least two domains (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) and two industries (e.g., Pharma, Banking, Aerospace).

The base salary range for this role in New York is $191,000—$255,000 USD, based on a full‑time schedule. Total compensation includes base salary, bonus/commission, equity, and benefits (health, dental, life, 401k, and paid time off).
