Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking an entry-level Project Engineering Technician to support CQA programs across the Southeast. The role focuses on field testing, construction observation, and detailed documentation under senior staff supervision, ensuring grading, embankment construction, and geosynthetic installations meet specs.

Required: high school diploma, 0–3 years in CQA or related, ability to travel 50–90% nationwide, and certifications within designated timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a related field preferred.
• 0–3 years of experience in CQA, soil testing, or related work.
• Must pass ICC Special Inspector General Requirements within 3 months.
• Must pass ICC Soils Codes and Soils Plans within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-place soil moisture and density testing using drive cylinder method.
• Conduct undisturbed Shelby tube sampling and prepare samples for lab testing.
• Assist senior technicians in geosynthetics deployment observation activities.
• Observe and document installation of geomembranes, geotextiles, geocomposites, and drainage layers.
• Monitor soil placement, compaction, grading, and protective cover installation.
• Produce daily field reports with test data, material tracking, and observations.
• Communicate with project engineers, field leads, and construction personnel to ensure alignment on requirements.
