Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Corrosion Technician to join our cathodic protection team in the Midland area. The role covers external/internal corrosion control, CP system design/installation, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 5+ years in pipeline operations, and a NACE Corrosion Technician Certification. Proficiency with PCS/CPDM and MS Office is required. The position may be office-based in Midland, El Paso, or Denver City TX.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in pipeline or related operations.
• NACE Corrosion Technician or Corrosion Technologist Certification
• Internal corrosion knowledge is a requirement
• Knowledge and hands on experience with PCS/CPDM software applications is a requirement
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Possess knowledge in internal corrosion control measures.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the internal corrosion chemical program, including extraction and insertion corrosion coupons.
• Knowledge of adjustments of chemical injection pumps. Schedule swab runs and determines the amount of chemical required.
• Monitoring product downtimes and flow velocities
• Bacterial analysis and compositional water analysis
• Perform interrupted Annual and Periodic surveys, conduct proper interruption cycles, verify polarity and maintain half-cells.
