WSP USA is seeking a Lead Field Control Specialist for our Overland Park, KS office with flexibility to consider Topeka, KS; Kansas City, MO; and St. Louis, MO.

You will lead field control system commissioning, startup, and outage support across diverse facilities. You will act as the field technical authority for PLC- and DCS-based systems (Rockwell ControlLogix, AVEVA System Platform, DeltaV, ABB) and coordinate with operations, vendors, and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant project

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 10 years in field controls, commissioning, startup, or industrial power plant operations.
• Experience with instrumentation installation, loop checking, and calibration in active plant environments.
• Experience with water-tube and package boiler control systems, including combustion testing and tuning.
• Strong understanding of field safety procedures and hazard mitigation.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to project sites.
• Ability to support short- and long-term field assignments with travel.
• Completion of OSHA 30-hour training.
• Adherence to company health, safety, and conduct policies.

Aufgaben

• Lead field control system commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and outage support.
• Serve as field technical authority for PLC- and DCS-based control systems (Rockwell, AVEVA, DeltaV, ABB).
• Lead instrumentation installation verification, loop checks, calibration, and testing.
• Perform boiler combustion testing, tuning, and verification.
• Plan and execute field work based on scope, schedule, and budget.
• Produce commissioning reports, calibration records, and as-built deliverables.
• Coordinate with plant staff, vendors, and internal teams for safe execution.
• Support proposals with technical input and cost estimates.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and document near misses.
