Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Systems Technician to perform system commissioning, load controller software, and diagnose HVAC and controls issues on-site. You will work to keep buildings operating efficiently and safely while documenting progress and coordinating with customers and teams.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, calibration, and providing recommendations to improve facility performance, with a focus on safety and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Able to use hand and power tools such as drills and saws.
• Attention to detail.
• Effective communication and listening skills.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
• Ability to use basic electronic test equipment for calibration and diagnostics.
• Ability to meet any local licensing requirements for mounting and termination of low-voltage devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Load system-level controller software.
• Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices such as sensors and actuators.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls and provide service-related support at customer sites.
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
• Complete commissioning documentation, time sheets, expense reports, on-site documentation, and as-built updates.
• Communicate job progress, issues, arrival, and completion status with management, contractors, and customers.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to help improve facility efficiency and support quoting needs.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
