Job summary

Koch Finishing Systems is hiring a Field Control Technician (Start-up & Commissioning) to install, calibrate and service automated finishing systems across the United States. This field-based role requires travel and allows residence anywhere in the U.S.

with proximity to an airport. The role involves on-site commissioning, PLC/HMI troubleshooting, and collaboration with customers, project teams, and engineering.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field service, electrical/controls work or equipment commissioning.
• Familiarity with industrial controls (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, etc.).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Master Electrician license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment commissioning, calibration, and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot and debug industrial control systems on-site.
• Respond to field service calls and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with mechanical installation and start-up of new systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades.
• Document service activities with detailed reports.
• Travel up to 75% (domestic, occasional international).
