Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a Construction Technician 2 to perform field inspections and materials testing in Virginia. The role involves foundation inspection, concrete placement inspection, and quality control testing, with travel to nearby states as needed.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, a valid driver's license, and 6+ years of construction inspection experience. This position requires the ability to work independently and/or lead crews on projects across the region.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of construction field inspection and testing experience.
• High school graduate.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Willing to travel and stay near projects in VA, MD, NC.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications for field observations on construction sites.
• Conduct tests and investigations in the field or laboratory to determine properties of construction materials.
• Collect soil, asphalt and concrete samples and prepare reports.
• Document field activities and testing results.
• Perform laboratory and field tests according to prescribed procedures and standards.
• Use specialized equipment to prepare analyses, reports or drawings.
• Communicate field and laboratory testing results with staff, contractors and clients.
