Job summary

Buchart Horn is seeking a Construction Services Technician to join our Pittsburgh team. You will be the on-site liaison, supporting construction activities and ensuring work aligns with plans, specs, and quality standards.

This role offers hands-on field experience and growth alongside engineers and project managers. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in construction inspection or related internships, the ability to read plans, a valid driver’s license, and safety training such as OSHA 10.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in construction inspection or related internship.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work on active construction sites.
• Safety training such as Work Zone Safety, OSHA 10‑Hour, or Confined Space training preferred.
• NECEPT Field Technician Certification or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the engineer’s on‑site liaison, working closely with contractors, project managers, and clients.
• Support construction inspection activities to verify work complies with plans, specifications, and approved shop drawings.
• Attend and support pre‑construction meetings and job conferences, assisting with documentation and follow‑up.
• Observe testing, start‑ups, and construction activities, documenting field conditions and progress.
• Maintain organized project records including reports, correspondence, drawings, and daily logs.
• Assist with payment applications, substantial completion inspections, and closeout documentation.
