Job summary

B.L. Harbert International is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Sr. Project Superintendent in day-to-day field construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to contract documents on the project in Alabama.

The role requires leadership, reading construction documents, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and contributing to progress meetings while upholding BLHI values.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience as an assistant superintendent with 3 years of total construction experience.
• Experience in construction management, commercial/hospitality, buildings and infrastructure
• Degree in Construction Management, engineering, or comparable degree
• Experience managing project budgets, developing and maintaining schedules, and owner relationships
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be open to relocation

Responsibilities

• Support the Sr. Project Superintendent with day-to-day supervision of field construction activities
• Implement and enforce safety policies and direct craft personnel and subcontractors
• Schedule and sequence daily activities, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with contract documents
• Oversee QC/QA and as-built drawings; update project records
• Attend pre-construction and progress meetings; monitor staffing and performance
• Promote BLHI values and foster safe, productive field culture
