Job summary

Techserv in Texas is seeking a Field Construction Supervisor to oversee telecom fiber construction activities in coordination with third‑party contractors. You will ensure safety, QAQC, and environmental compliance while aligning with engineering standards and project sequencing.

Responsibilities include prioritizing work, providing status updates, coordinating material deliveries, and mentoring team members. Travel up to 90% and outdoor work are required; OSHA 30hr certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical engineering, or Construction Management (or related) with 2 years of utility-industry experience.
• Associate degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management with 4 years of utility-industry experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent with 10 years minimum experience in the utility industry.
• Must complete OSHA 30hr course.

Responsibilities

• Establish a strong culture of Safety and Environmental compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
• Provide an appropriate level of overs ight for work activities associated with installation of Telecom sites in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and standards.
• Possess an understanding of contract fundamentals and experience enforcing the terms of a contract in a field setting.
• Review, prioritize and facilitate construction activities to meet project schedule.
• Provide project updates on construction activities as requested.
• Coordinate the delivery of large materials and heavy equipment to the construction site.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to others as required.
• Capable of managing multiple projects as required.

Job description

FCR for Telecom Fiber Construction:

provides oversight of field-based construction activities in coordination with Telecom third party contractors. Area of responsibilities include but are not limited to; adherence to safety and environmental regulations and policies, civil site preparation, material tracking and inventory, concrete foundation installation, underground conduit installation, ground grid installation and testing, installation of AC and DC electrical systems, antenna systems, telecom prefabricated equipment shelters, equipment racks, lattice structures, river crossing structures, cell towers, and any project related demo activities. Ensure adherence to all applicable engineering standards and specifications (QAQC). Ensure adherence to appropriate project sequencing and execution. Provide the Project team with construction status as required.

• Must complete OSHA 30hr course

Requirements:

• Ability to work in outdoor environments
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to travel 90% of working time
• Have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products, iOS devices, web-based applications, etc.
