Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our Emeryville, California team. You will provide technical, administrative, and subcontractor management support to Project Managers and Project Directors on life sciences facilities.

The position emphasizes coordinating execution plans, schedules, budgets, managing documentation, RFIs, procurement support, safety planning, and site coordination. Travel may be required as projects dictate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
• 1-3 years of experience in Engineering, Project Delivery, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development and maintenance of execution plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Manage documentation, submittals, RFIs, and communication among project stakeholders.
• Support procurement, contract administration, and change management processes.
• Participate in safety planning and quality assurance, including shop drawing reviews and design compliance.
• Track project costs, invoice preparation, and reporting.
• Maintain project documentation systems and assist with closeout deliverables and turnover packages.
• Contribute to marketing materials, proposals, and ongoing team coordination across departments.
