Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is hiring a Construction Field Manager to oversee on-site construction inspection, coordinating company and contractor teams, and ensuring projects meet safety, regulatory, and design standards. The role requires strong leadership, scheduling, and cost-management skills, with travel to various project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus Associate's Degree in Construction management, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of related work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Driver's License.
• 5+ years preferred in system operations, inspection, and construction practices.
• Prefer welding inspection and pipeline tapping/stopple certification.
• Advanced knowledge of pipeline design codes and specifications (49 CFR Part 192, ASME, API).
• Advanced knowledge of pipeline facilities design (mains, service, valves, stations).

Responsibilities

• Manage construction inspection and ensure facilities are installed and documented per standards.
• Schedule and manage company and contractor personnel on site; optimize costs on Time and Material and Not to Exceed jobs.
• Represent Chesapeake Utilities with governmental entities and manage permit compliance and public relations near construction sites.
• Meet construction deadlines and approve change orders and vendor payments within spending authority.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance on construction sites and adherence to safety requirements.
• Assist in cost estimates for projects and provide information for budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling.
• Develop project timelines and determine least-cost options; procure materials.
• Prepare as-built drawings and direct CAD operators in drawing development.
