Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Construction Resident Engineer to lead field staff on road and bridge projects in multiple Illinois locations, including Lisle. You will oversee contract administration, field engineering, and coordination for mid-to-large heavy highway projects while ensuring safety and compliance with plans and specs.

The role demands a Civil Engineering degree, a PE license, 6+ years of transport RES experience, and multiple certifications (OSHA 10, IDOT HMA/Concrete Level 1,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• PE license is required.
• 6+ years of resident engineering experience on transportation projects.
• 10 HR OSHA, IDOT HMA and Concrete Level 1, and IDOT Aggregates certifications.
• Strong field leadership and contract management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the construction inspection team.
• Plan, prepare, and analyze construction documents.
• Manage construction contracts utilizing CMMS software.
• Review contractor schedules, staging plans, and traffic control plans for compliance.
• Ensure safety of personnel and the traveling public.
• Monitor progress, conduct field visits, and report project status.
