Job summary

Blum Construction in Raleigh, NC seeks an Assistant Superintendent to support the superintendent in delivering a high-quality, profitable project on schedule. You will lead field activities, coordinate craft workers, manage daily operations, and maintain safety and quality standards.

This role requires strong leadership, planning, and cost awareness, with at least a 4-year engineering degree and substantial supervisory experience.

Qualifications

4-year engineering degree or equivalent.
Minimum of 6 years construction experience.
Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
Knowledge of safety regulations, scheduling and cost control.

Responsibilities

Supervise craft workers assigned to area of responsibility.
Provide liaison between field engineering, estimating, and crafts to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications.
Assist in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, materials quantities, equipment, requirements, etc. are maintained.
Monitor work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project rules, procedures, safety requirements, etc. are maintained.
Ensure that craft time cards are completed to accurately reflecthours worked.
Advise senior level supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.
Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
Maintain liaison with other departments, i.e., Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering, etc. as required to support construction schedule.
