Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer for diverse transportation projects in Northern, CA. The role requires at least 5 years of heavy civil construction experience and CA-licensed PE eligibility or better.

You will supervise field activities, coordinate with project teams, and ensure compliance with plans and codes. The position involves site visits, documentation management, and liaison with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience on heavy civil construction projects and supervision is essential.
• Ability to direct and supervise field construction activities and staff.
• Knowledge of Cal-OSHA, ADA, and Caltrans ADA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in oversight of construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans and codes.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Contractor and field teams for smooth execution.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and provide technical guidance.
• Track work and report milestones, risks, and mitigation actions.
• Assist with RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, change orders and related owner documents.
• Utilize MS Office, Procore, and Adobe Acrobat for project management.
• Support closeout by compiling as-built docs, warranties, and Owner manuals.
