Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work well in team settings.
• Willing to work safely outdoors in differing weather conditions near heavy equipment within highway work zones.

Responsibilities

• Inspect general building construction, utility line installations, bridge construction, earth embankment and dam projects and other transportation projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Communicate and coordinate with contractors, project team, and supervisor staff.
• Perform field measurements.
• Complete material tests, such as soil compaction, concrete, and asphalt testing and entering information and test results into report format.
• Preparing clear and concise daily field reports in a timely manner, which includes photographs.
• Creating as-built drawings of completed work.
• Able to work construction hours, which may include night assignments and/or overtime.
