Qualifications

• High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate.
• Minimum five years of field construction inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting roads, bridges, drainage, water/wastewater, and utility construction.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor work on highways, bridges, utilities to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and permits.
• Maintain a daily inspection log.
• Perform field tests (slump, air content, dye) and record results; collect samples for lab.
• Identify damaged conduits, document findings, and assist locating intact conduits.
• Oversee excavation, formwork, concrete placement, and paving as required.
• Read and interpret diagrams and sketches of inspection sites and utilities.
