The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is seeking Construction Inspectors for District 03 across Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St Landry, St Martin, St Mary, and Vermilion Parishes. You will perform field inspections, materials observation, and documentation on road and bridge projects, with training provided and opportunities for career progression.

Outdoor, physically active role with variable hours.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with inspection of roadway, bridge, drainage, and related construction activities.
• Review and document material deliveries and quantities (including haul tickets and load tickets).
• Perform measurements, field checks, and routine tests under supervision.
• Observe contractor work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including field notes, diaries, test reports, and estimates.
• Enter construction project data into required systems (e.g., Site Manager or other DOTD applications).
• Participate in required training and structured certification programs.
• Support public interaction and coordination during construction activities, as needed.
• Assist with emergency or disaster response activities when required.
