Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
ABET accreditation assures confidence that a collegiate program has met standards essential to prepare graduates to enter critical STEM fields in the global workforce.
Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.
Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and performs construction inspections verifying that contractors' activities are in compliance with contracts, specifications, and engineering principles.
Performs duties of inspector in charge of routine construction items, including paving and bridges and related operations.
Performs measurements, computations, or other work in preparing final plans, change orders, contractor payment estimates, and engineering costs.
Maintains required construction documentation, records and files; prepares progress and other reports, keeps supervisor informed.
Provides field checks for contractor surveying operations; serves as party chief on routine layout and staking.
