Airswift is seeking a Field Construction Engineer – Mechanical (Rotating & Packaged Equipment) to oversee field activities on rotating and packaged equipment in complex industrial projects. You will ensure safe execution, quality compliance, and adherence to project specs, codes, and standards, while supporting commissioning and startup teams.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial construction (Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Power).
  • 5+ years of experience with rotating and packaged equipment.
  • Experience in field engineering, mechanical completion, and commissioning support.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards, installation practices, and QC processes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; proficient with MS Office.
  • TWIC or equivalent site-access certification; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation, alignment, preservation, inspection, and pre-commissioning of rotating and packaged equipment.
  • Monitor contractor performance, safety compliance, and field quality standards.
  • Participate in system walkdowns, punch listing, and turnover activities.
  • Review technical documentation, procedures, reports, and inspection records.
  • Ensure proper equipment storage and preservation per manufacturer requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning and operations to resolve issues.
  • Track construction progress and provide regular status updates.
  • Support commissioning and startup readiness activities.

Position Summary

Field Construction Engineer – Mechanical (Rotating & Packaged Equipment) Responsible for overseeing mechanical construction activities related to rotating and packaged equipment, ensuring safe execution, quality compliance, and adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and applicable codes. Supports construction, commissioning, and startup teams to achieve successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial construction projects within Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Power sectors.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with rotating and packaged equipment.
  • Experience with field engineering, mechanical completion, and commissioning support.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards, mechanical installation practices, and quality control processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • TWIC or equivalent site-access certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Experience
  • Preferred Experience in brownfield projects.
  • Knowledge of equipment preservation and storage requirements.
