Job summary

The Arkansas Department of Transportation District 9 invites applications for an entry-level Resident Engineer Office inspector in Bentonville, AR. Under general supervision, this position performs inspection of contractors’ work, entry-level survey duties, staking and layout, and basic tests of materials.

Work may involve traveling to project sites, using hand tools, operating SiteManager software, and coordinating with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills including fractions and decimals.
• Basic PC operation and Windows familiarity.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractors’ work and document daily activities.
• Assist with entry-level surveying duties and project staking.
• Use hand tools to locate/mark markers and collect material samples.
• Perform materials tests to ensure specification compliance.
• Document contractor work via SiteManager or similar software.
• Occasionally drive a Department vehicle to project sites.
