Job summary

Humphreys & Partners Architects in San Diego is seeking a Construction Administrator to support our Western Region. You will interpret contract documents, observe construction, and maintain open communication among owners, contractors and staff.

Duties include reviewing payments, preparing field reports, and coordinating HUD documentation across project sites. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field (or equivalent) and 4–10 years of experience, with at least 25%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field or equivalent experience.
• Thorough understanding of architectural/construction terminology and building codes.
• Ability to communicate, negotiate, and resolve disputes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret contract documents, track progress, and reconcile owner/contractor interests.
• Observe construction for conformance to documents and specs.
• Maintain open communication between owner, contractor and project staff.
• Review payment requests and change orders for validity.
• Prepare field reports and address non-conforming observations with contractor/owner.
• Coordinate HUD field documentation and travel to project sites.
• Manage submittals and RFIs as per Contract Documents.
