Job summary

Innovative Concrete, LLC is seeking an experienced Field Concrete Engineer to support field operations on commercial projects. You will coordinate schedules, review plans, and ensure safety and quality on site.

You will work with Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, and field crews across multiple projects, traveling to sites as needed and contributing to on-time completion and cost control.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial concrete construction or field engineering.
• Ability to pass a federal background check.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs and shop drawings.
• Strong organizational skills managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency with computers and scheduling tools.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
• Ability to work nights, weekends or holidays if required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules, labor, materials, equipment, and daily activities across multiple projects.
• Review plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and contract documents for accuracy.
• Prepare for upcoming work by coordinating RFIs, material procurement, inspections, and scheduling four weeks in advance.
• Work with Superintendent and Foreman to prepare for site work, coordinate logistics, and communicate cost/quality changes.
• Coordinate material orders, verify against submittals and track equipment rentals.
• Assist with pour planning, coordinating suppliers, pump services, inspections, and mix designs.
• Conduct daily site walks to review progress, quality, housekeeping, and inspections.
• Maintain QC documentation including pre/post pour checklists and test reports.
• Prepare daily reports, timecards, production notes, and contract payroll records.
• Participate in project meetings, safety audits, and coordination meetings.
• Help maintain a safe/organized jobsite and manage tools, vehicles, and inventory.
• Track quantities, labor rates, production, and costs to identify issues early.
• Assist with project closeout and contract completion.

Job description

Innovative Concrete, LLC is looking for an experienced Field Concrete Engineer to support field operations on commercial concrete projects. This position works closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Foreman to coordinate daily activities, plan upcoming work, and help ensure projects stay on schedule and meet company quality standards.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to communicate effectively between the field and project team. This role requires working closely with field crews, general contractors, subcontractors, and other project partners to anticipate needs, address challenges, and keep work moving efficiently from start to finish. Additional related duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordinating schedules, labor, materials, equipment, and daily work activities across multiple projects.
• Review construction plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and contract documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Stay ahead of upcoming work by helping coordinate RFIs, material procurement, inspections, and scheduling needs at least four weeks in advance.
• Work closely with the Superintendent and Foreman to prepare for upcoming work, coordinate site logistics, and communicate project changes that may affect cost, schedule, or quality.
• Coordinate material orders and deliveries, verify materials against approved submittals and contract requirements, and track equipment rentals to avoid unnecessary costs.
• Assist with concrete pour planning, including coordinating with concrete suppliers, pump services, inspections, and mix design requirements.
• Conduct daily site walks with field leadership to review work progress, quality, housekeeping, and upcoming inspection requirements.
• Maintain quality control documentation, including pre-pour and post-pour checklists, concrete tickets, material certifications, test reports, and inspection records.
• Prepare and review daily reports, crew timecards, production notes, and other required project records. Ensure labor records and certified payroll documentation are accurate and consistent with applicable contract requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, safety audits, and coordination meetings.
• Help maintain an safe/organized jobsite, including tools, equipment, storage containers, company vehicles, and material inventory.
• Assist with tracking quantities, labor rates, production, and job costs to help identify potential issues early.
• Assist with project closeout, document filing, and completion of contract requirements.

Requirements

• Experience in commercial concrete construction, field engineering, project coordination, or a related construction role.
• Ability to pass a federal background check.
• Knowledge in concrete forming, reinforcing, placement, finishing, and curing.
• Working knowledge of construction safety practices and quality control procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Proficiency with computers, project management software, scheduling tools, and general office applications, with the ability to learn new programs.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively. Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, if required.
