Job summary

ConocoPhillips in Kermit, TX seeks a Compressor Technician to ensure safe, efficient compressor operations across assets and support new site construction and optimization efforts. You will work with the Gas Lift/Compression Foreman and field teams to drive performance while maintaining environmental compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical/maintenance and compressor operations, physical ability to meet job demands, and a readiness to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or maintenance roles.
• 5+ years of experience in compressor operations and maintenance.
• Willing and able to meet physical demands described in the job description.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and environmentally compliant operations for all company-owned and rental compressors.
• Train operators on shutdowns and safety devices and verify functionality.
• Train field teams to meet environmental laws, rules, and regulations across sites.
• Support preparation, installation, startup, and performance of new compressor units.
• Oversee site construction, equipment layout, and piping for new installations to meet standards.
• Coordinate operating conditions and evaluate vendor proposals for new installs.
• Serve as field contact for compressor vendors and align on scope and timelines.
• Monitor and optimize compressor performance and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineers to recommend replacements or alternate lift solutions.
• Assist pumpers and foremen with issues to restore runtime and throughput.
• Set up tracking tools to measure runtime, availability, fuel usage, and compliance.
