Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Compressor Technician to support compression and process equipment across oil & gas facilities in Texas. This full-time field role focuses on keeping natural gas equipment operating safely and reliably through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with compressors or rotating equipment, and the ability to read P&IDs and schematics.

Qualifications

• Previous natural gas compressor or oil & gas field service experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience with compressors, engines, rotating equipment, or gas processing equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and control systems.
• Comfortable reading P&IDs and equipment schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in outdoor field environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service, and repair natural gas compressors and rotating equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment overhauls
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control issues
• Assist with compressor installations, start-ups, commissioning, and equipment upgrades
• Work with gas handling systems, piping, valves, instrumentation, and related process equipment
• Read P&IDs, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals
• Complete service documentation and communicate equipment conditions to customers and internal teams
• Follow LOTO, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements
• Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned territory
