Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a field-based O&M technician for the Permian Basin, including New Mexico assets around Carlsbad. You will perform engine and compressor maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on large industrial equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operations in outdoor environments.

You will join a team that works across pumps, motors, engines, turbines, and generators, with on-call duties, shift work, and a strong emphasis on safety and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• General operational mechanical and maintenance knowledge of natural gas engines, compressors and related equipment.
• 2 years of formal or industry experience in oil/gas field is preferred.
• Must be able to work shifts and be on call.
• Basic computer skills for planning, scheduling and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operations sites are maintained safely.
• Engine oil and compression oil analysis.
• Keep detailed and accurate records.
• Perform repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting on compression packages.
• Coordinate and perform mechanical maintenance and repairs of equipment.
• Work near electrical circuits and machinery in various weather conditions.
