Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of State, Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation is seeking a dedicated Regulatory Enforcement Inspector to help ensure businesses operate safely and within regulations. You will conduct inspections and gather evidence to support investigations.

This role involves performing compliance checks, issuing citations, preparing reports, and testifying at hearings. You may telework part-time with approved locations and will travel to multiple counties

Qualifications

• Three years of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.
• An Associate's Degree and one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visits to licensed locations to check adherence to laws, rules, and required documentation.
• Gather records, samples, and other information to support investigative activities.
• Identify violations and issue citations in accordance with established procedures.
• Write inspection and investigation reports that summarize findings and actions taken.
• Speak with individuals during inspections while keeping identities and information confidential.
• Appear at hearings and provide testimony regarding inspection or investigative findings.
