Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Field Operations Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mobile radio systems and field communications infrastructure across Colorado. This hands-on role combines vehicle radio installations with power systems, UPS installations, grounding and bonding, and field operations support.

You will travel throughout Colorado with a company vehicle, laptop, and installation tools provided; experience with 12V/24V

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with 12V/24V vehicle electrical systems.
• Experience installing or repairing mobile electronics or vehicle accessories.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience using hand tools and voltage testers.
• Ability to travel throughout Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot mobile radios in fleet vehicles and facilities.
• Perform wiring, cable routing, equipment mounting, and system testing.
• Support DC power system installation and maintenance.
• Install and maintain UPS systems and related equipment.

About The Role

Fort Collins, CO

We are looking for a Field Operations Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mobile radio systems and field communications infrastructure across a diverse fleet of vehicles and facilities throughout Colorado.

This is a hands-on field role that combines vehicle radio installations with a variety of infrastructure support activities. These activities include power systems, UPS installations, grounding and bonding, equipment upgrades, and general field operations support.

You will travel throughout Colorado. We will provide a company vehicle, computer, and installation tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot mobile radios in fleet vehicles and facilities.
• Perform wiring, cable routing, equipment mounting, and system testing.
• Support DC power system installation and maintenance.
• Install and maintain UPS systems and related equipment.
• Perform grounding and bonding for communications and electrical systems.
• Support radio system upgrades and communications infrastructure projects.
• Troubleshoot power, radio, and equipment-related service tickets.
• Operate electrical testing equipment and hand tools safely.
• Help with generator maintenance and field equipment support.
• Create Bills of Material (BOMs) and support project planning.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and materials.
• Document existing equipment, field conditions, and completed work.
• Maintain site records and equipment lifecycle information.
• Support cable management, rack upgrades, and site refresh projects.
• Travel throughout Colorado to perform field installations and service work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience working with vehicle electrical systems (12V/24V).
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, or repairing mobile electronics, communications equipment, or vehicle accessories.
• Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Experience using hand tools, test equipment, voltmeters, and related tools.
• Ability to travel throughout Colorado.
