Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a Collection Specialist to join our outdoor operations team. You will work with a Driver to safely collect waste and recyclables from residential, commercial, and industrial sites, acting as the Driver's spotter while routes are completed efficiently.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service as you assist with vehicle inspections, route execution, and day-to-day operational needs within a fast-growing regional company.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outdoors and on diverse routes.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a Driver to collect residential, commercial, and industrial waste and recyclables.
• Safely lift, move, empty, and load containers into collection vehicles.
• Act as the Driver's spotter during backing maneuvers with clear guidance.
• Maintain awareness of traffic, pedestrians, and hazards to ensure safe operations.
• Assist with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report safety concerns.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service during interactions with customers.
