Your knowledge of the hospital ecosystem, combined with our in-depth training program, will help develop you into an Edwards subject matter expert, enabling you to contribute to transforming patient lives.

Aortic stenosis affects millions globally, yet it remains under-diagnosed and undertreated. Edwards’ pioneering work in transcatheter aortic heart valve replacement (TAVR) offers an innovative, life-changing solution that avoids open-heart surgery. Our Transcatheter Heart Valve (THV) business continues to collaborate with cardiologists and clinical teams to improve patient care supported by clinical evidence. The goal is to help each site become independent in procedures, product preparation, and support. Field Clinical Specialists will guide the use of the device, enabling physicians and staff to achieve proficiency and positive patient outcomes.

This role reports to an assigned Regional Director and collaborates with Sales, Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, and Education departments. After extensive training, a Field Clinical Specialist will travel within an assigned territory to clinically train customers on THV technology.

How you will make an impact:
  1. Independently manage valve crimping, case management, pre- and post-case planning, 3 Mensio management, Therapy Awareness program management, and clinical education programs.
  2. Implement sales and educational materials, validate software and hardware updates in the field.
  3. Plan and execute growth strategies within targeted accounts with Sales Management.
  4. Develop clinical champions among current and potential customers to advocate for THV products.
  5. Collaborate with clinicians to deliver training and educational sessions to promote THV product utilization.
  6. Use acquired knowledge to educate physicians and staff for proficiency in THV procedures, ensuring positive patient outcomes.
  7. Support implants, device preparation, and crimping of the Sapien valve during cases; assist physicians to achieve optimal outcomes; handle complaints as needed.
  8. Assist outside of the assigned region as necessary.
  9. Partner with Territory Managers to identify suitable sites.
  10. Coordinate with proctors and sales teams to plan and execute training sessions.
  11. Work with the Territory Manager to grow THV therapy through awareness programs.
  12. Contribute to the development of THV procedures in Cardiology and Surgery.
What you will need (Required):
  1. An associate’s or equivalent two-year clinical degree in Life Sciences or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  2. At least five years of experience working in a sterile environment such as a cath lab or operating room. Clinical experience in interventional cardiology may substitute for some corporate experience.
  3. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
What else we look for (Preferred):
  1. Experience in clinical education and training.
  2. Skills in cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology are highly preferred; relevant medical device sales support experience is also considered.
  3. Sales skills including motivation, interpersonal and communication skills, planning, organization, and autonomous work ability.
  4. Willingness to travel extensively (about 60-70%) and adapt between technical and sales roles.
  5. Medical training to technician or nurse level is highly preferred.
  6. Excellent relationship-building skills with cardiologists, support staff, and internal teams.
  7. Entrepreneurial spirit, drive, strong work ethic, initiative, and teamwork skills.
