Field Clinical Specialist - Shockwave - Washington DC - Remote

This position is for a Field Clinical Specialist supporting Shockwave Medical Inc., located in Washington, DC. The role is fully remote but requires the candidate to reside in the DC area.

Position Overview

The Field Clinical Specialist will provide case support to physicians during peripheral and coronary interventional procedures, in both pre-market and post-market phases, using Shockwave Medical’s Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) technology. The role also involves supporting clinical studies, including device training, case support, and data collection, with possible support for other territories as needed.

Essential Job Functions
  • Train physicians and hospital staff, and provide procedural case coverage to ensure safe and effective use of medical devices.
  • Meet customer needs effectively with a sense of urgency.
  • Present clinical study training materials, including study protocols, instructions for use, and case report forms.
  • Manage relationships with key study investigators and maintain strong collaborations.
  • Partner with clinical research colleagues to meet business needs, including site re-training and data collection.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as training, travel, and budget management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, nursing, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years’ experience supporting interventional or surgical procedures in a hospital, or 1 year in industry or hospital-based sales support. Cardiovascular experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of clinical research, GCP, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory agencies and managing product vigilance.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • High energy, results-oriented, with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Ability to travel extensively (over 50%) and lift objects up to 40 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits
