• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience preferred
• 3+ years previous property claims experience preferred
• 2+ years previous General Liability and construction defect claims experience preferred
• Certificate in General Insurance preferred
• AIC, CPCU, SCLA, CIC, or ARM designation(s) preferred
• Knowledge of claims laws and coverages
• Ability to effectively work from home
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and negotiating skills
• Knowledge of Xactimate estimating software preferred
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills

DESCRIPTION:
Analyze, review, negotiate and settle commercial general liability property damage and construction defect claims of varying complexity in a thorough manner with minimal supervision. This position will require the utilization of investigation skills to analyze coverage, liability, and property damage. This is a great opportunity for someone that is looking to get into property damage liability claim handling and is a fully remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze, review, negotiate and settle commercial general liability property damage and construction defect claims of varying complexity in a thorough manner with minimal supervision
• Assist in agency management by providing feedback to Underwriting
• Establish and monitor reserves to adequately reflect the exposure, making appropriate changes as files develop
• Focus on outstanding customer service for all customers
• Examine policy coverage forms and other records to determine insurance coverage
• Conduct on-site inspections and interviews, as well as telephone and written correspondence, with claimants and policyholders
• Work closely with our legal department on complex claims
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience preferred
• 3+ years previous property claims experience preferred
• 2+ years previous General Liability and construction defect claims experience preferred
• Certificate in General Insurance preferred
• AIC, CPCU, SCLA, CIC, or ARM designation(s) preferred
• Knowledge of claims laws and coverages
• Ability to effectively work from home
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and negotiating skills
• Knowledge of Xactimate estimating software preferred
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills

REQUIRED:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record consistent with the terms in SECURA’s Fleet Vehicle Manual
• Travel with overnight stays
• Physical agility and mobility to move around effectively and safely within different locations including policy holder’s property
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for an extended period of time
