Job summary

SME is seeking a Civil Engineer to observe construction activities, test material properties, and provide engineering consulting under supervision of licensed Professional Engineers. You will perform field evaluations and recommend solutions to keep projects on track.

You will mentor junior staff, prepare on-site reports, and communicate complex findings clearly to clients and team. Travel to diverse sites is expected, and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient with MS Office for reporting and data management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients and team.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills for field observations.
• Ability to work safely in the field and adapt to changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed on-site reviews to assess construction progress, evaluate contractor adherence to project specifications, identify potential challenges, perform specialized tests on construction materials to verify quality standards are consistently met, analyze data and project information, and apply your expertise and training to make well-informed recommendations to help keep projects on track.
• Prepare detailed reports summarizing your complex field observations, precise test results, and sophisticated analysis of construction processes.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Use your problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex construction challenges.
