Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist II to work at customer sites in Laveen, AZ, leading safety protocols, packaging waste and performing onsite testing for hazardous materials.

The role combines indoor and outdoor duties, with travel to client locations for inspections, sampling and waste handling. Qualified candidates will hold a valid CDL with HazMat, a 40-hour HAZWOPER, and knowledge of environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of chemistry principles and practices.
• Proficient knowledge of Federal & State Environmental and Transportation regulations (DOT, OSHA, RCRA).
• Ability to perform proper waste sampling and create accurate waste characterizations.
• Strong communication and data reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead collection, characterization & packaging of customer waste for disposal.
• Ensure safe transportation of waste per Federal & facility rules.
• Prepare paperwork: packing lists, labels, shipping documents.
• Provide onsite support at customer locations (inspections, sampling, inventory, shipments).

Field Chemist II### Field Chemist IIApply: Laveen, AZ, USA: Full time: Posted Yesterday: R-187628**POSITION SUMMARY:** The Environmental Field Chemist II - CDL role works both indoors and outdoors at various customer sites as a proficient partner to the team to lead safety protocols, package all materials based on required regulations, including onsite testing of suspected materials, and work with the customer to add additional services. They are responsible for leading hazardous waste removal services.**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Leads collection, characterization & packaging of customer waste for final disposal.* Responsible for safe transportation of customer waste in accordance with all Federal Regulations and receiving facility regulations.* Prepares customer paperwork including but not limited to: Packing Lists, Waste Labels & Shipping Documents.* Performs onsite support at customer locations such as inspections, waste collection, chemical dispensing, inventory management, housekeeping & outbound waste shipments.* Identifies and categorizes suspected contents via internal sampling procedures & categorization tests, i.e. ‘Field Screens’. Provides customers with detailed inventory of waste on site.* Travel to customer locations.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** Proficient knowledge of chemistry principles and practices including analysis and evaluation, and waste processing and treatment protocols.* Proficient knowledge of Federal & State Environmental and Transportation regulations. (DOT, OSHA and RCRA. etc.)* Required skills include performing proper waste sampling; creating accurate waste characterizations and profiles; addressing difficult situations in a constructive manner; utilizing computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting; negotiation and problem solving.* Ability to build rapport with associates and managers.* Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data.
