Job summary

Transcat is seeking an onsite calibration technician to provide calibration of test equipment for customers within an 8-hour radius, with frequent travel to customer facilities. When not traveling, there is an opportunity to support the local Transcat laboratory.

Responsibilities include calibrating MTE to manufacturers' specs, documenting services, and offering related services. Candidates should have calibration experience and a valid driver’s license, with a willingness to travel weekly.

Qualifications

• Calibration experience and/or equivalent training with M&TE.
• Self-motivator requiring little supervision.
• Customer service oriented.
• Ability to interact with customers & coworkers in a professional manner.
• Proficiency with MS Office and the internet; familiarity with basic database functionality.
• 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate measurement and test equipment (M&TE) to manufacturers' specifications.
• Determine out of tolerance conditions for customer M&TE and calibration standards.
• Provide corrective action for out of tolerance conditions (adjustments, minor repairs).
• Update and maintain proper documentation of services.
• Provide customer with information regarding other services and new equipment provided by Transcat.
• Maintain calibration standards.
• Provide feedback and updates regarding calibration practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in submitting and updating required paperwork for travel and administrative purposes.
• Other duties as assigned.
