The role requires 5+ years in medical service or 7+ years in related electromechanical fields, with ventilator experience highly valued. A2 electronics degree or equivalent is expected, and a field-based, full-time schedule is standard.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a medical service environment or 7+ years in other electromechanical industries.
  • Experience with ventilators; experience with general biomedical equipment, patient monitoring, defibrillators, and/or infusion pumps preferred.
  • Associate degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, field change orders, installations, and related tasks independently, diagnosing and resolving electronic, network, and mechanical issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by meeting commitments and understanding customer priorities.
  • Work as part of onsite team to improve processes and identify training gaps.
  • Perform administrative duties in line with regulatory requirements, including timesheets, service orders, and documentation.
  • Shift time: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.

Job Description

Support the Philips Multi-Vendor Services (MVS) business as a Field Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) for customers in the Bronx, NY area. You will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain equipment at customer sites.

Your Role
  • Perform and complete preventative maintenance (PM), Field Change Orders (FCOs), installations, and all related tasks independently, diagnosing and resolving electronic, network, and mechanical issues. Utilize service manuals, tools, training (on-the-job, manufacturer, 3rd party), support, resources, and escalation processes within required timeframes to resolve customer and system problems timely and effectively.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements, setting clear expectations, and meeting commitments to address and resolve customer needs. Understand the customer's business and assess priorities communicated by site leadership.
  • Actively participate as a member of the onsite work team; work to improve team processes and identify training gaps. Seek out opportunities to increase capability and capacity (i.e. may be required to become trained on a diverse range of equipment, learn new tools).
  • Perform all administrative duties within established Philips, State, and Federal regulatory requirements and timeframes including timesheets, service work orders, expense reports, FCOs, PM, installation documents, site and service documentation, and other related paperwork. Adhere to established training, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Shift time: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.
You're The Right Fit If
  • You’ve acquired 5+ years of experience in a medical service environment or 7+ years of experience in other electromechanical industries. Experience with ventilators required; experience with general biomedical equipment, patient monitoring, defibrillators, and/or infusion pumps highly preferred.
  • Your skills include the ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose, and repair equipment, including knowledge and use of all necessary tools and test equipment.
  • You have an associate degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and above listed experience.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You must be able to:
    • Work in a hospital/healthcare environment; adhere to requirements.
    • Work flexible hours as needed based on business needs (i.e., 2nd or 3rd shifts; weekends, on-call; mandatory extra hours dependent on workload).
    • Safely work with radiation sources and/or radioactive materials; wear all required personal protective equipment.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The hourly pay range for this position in NY is $32.00 to $51.00, plus overtime eligible.

This role also includes on-call pay, company fleet/car, training, and advancement opportunities. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive plan, field service incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.
