Job summary
National Electrical Engineering Consultants (NEEC) is seeking a BESS Engineer I (Controls) for field-based testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems across the United States. The role requires travel and hands-on work with PCS/inverters, electrical gear, and control systems.
Candidates should have an engineering degree and experience reading schematics, with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Electrical/Automation preferred).
- Experience reading electrical schematics and control documentation.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems and industrial networks helpful.
Responsibilities
- Support testing, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of utility-scale BESS.
- Verify signals between BESS equipment and control systems.
- Read electrical diagrams and control documentation to identify discrepancies.
- Collaborate with OEMs, EPCs, and project stakeholders to meet schedules.
- Maintain accurate test records, logs, and commissioning documentation.
- Travel across the United States to project sites as needed.
