Job summary

Signal Energy LLC is seeking a Commissioning Superintendent for solar energy projects. This field-based role requires daily commuting to and from the project site and close collaboration with the Project Management team to manage commissioning scope.

You will direct commissioning personnel, create and maintain documentation, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and coordinate with engineering and testing teams while upholding safety on site.

Qualifications

• Electrical/engineering background with field commissioning experience.
• Experience in solar and/or wind construction projects is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, schedules and specs.

Responsibilities

• Directs solar commissioning personnel and/or subcontractors to achieve completion of the project.
• Support the project team with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for activities.
• Create and maintain commissioning documentation in accordance with contract requirements.
• Assure that all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and is in full compliance.
• Coordinate with supplier testing & commissioning teams.
• Identify testing required per project scope of work and ITP.
• Communication with engineering parties to meet commissioning requirements.
• Acts as an electrical consultant to supervisory and field personnel in the areas of electrical circuits, power quality, switchgear installations, transmission lines, interconnect systems, and HV collection/distribution systems.
• Responsible for safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project, enforcing site safety regulations.
• Assist Project Superintendent in communicating and negotiating with the owner regarding major project decisions.
• Compares actual costs to the job estimate for specific discipline and informs the Site Manager of cost over-runs.
• Understands scope of work and identifies potential change orders for the Site Manager.
