Job summary

State of Arkansas is seeking a Social Services Assistant to support social workers, case managers, and clients. You will perform intake, referrals, and client services while maintaining confidential records and coordinating services to ensure safe and effective outcomes.

The role requires early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed, plus the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport children, working within the Department of Human Services to help Arkansans.

Qualifications

• Six months of work experience in human services or public service.
• Background check and child/adult maltreatment registry check required.
• In-state travel required; mornings, evenings and weekends may be needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and safely supervise/transport children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in client intake and service referrals.
• Provide basic counseling and resource navigation.
• Maintain accurate records and case documentation.
• Support community outreach and public education initiatives.
• Coordinate scheduling and follow-ups for client services.
