Job summary

The Habitat Restoration Officer role is based in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, working with the Higher-Level Stewardship (HLS) project team to plan and oversee habitat restoration across the New Forest landscape. Qualifications

• Experience in habitat restoration, ecology, or related field.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan work programmes to restore internationally important habitats in the New Forest, including wetlands, river and terrestrial restoration.
• Engage with staff, stakeholders and partners to secure agreement and manage site constraints.
• Deliver restoration projects on the ground by setting up and managing contracts and providing technical guidance to contractors.
• Report progress and monitor outcomes; update databases and communicate with the HLS team and board.
• Line management responsibilities may arise and opportunities for supervision of staff or volunteers.
